About
Ambucs
Greetings From Our President:
The Enid AM TOO Chapter of AMBUCS has such a great history at a national
level as well as a local level. We continue to make a difference and build on
our strong core membership through educating our members and increasing our
membership numbers. I invite you to join us Wednesday morning. It's a great
way to meet new friends and become involved in the community.
Enid AM Too AMBUCS History:
The Enid AM Too AMBUCS Club chartered in July of 1988 with 101 enthusiastic,
hard working women that were willing to meet the challenge given to them at
their Charter Celebration Banquet "BE THE BEST THAT YOU CAN BE".
The charter executive officers were President, Hazel Kampschroeder, 1st Vice
President Sheryl Wilmeth, 2nd Vice President, Jamie Gurwell LaMunyon,
Secretary Gretchen Semard Boyer and Treasurer Sharan Walker Carlisle. We held
our first fund raising project so that we could start giving back to the
community when we were less than one month old. With in a very short time we had
earned the reputation that if you needed community involvement call Enid AM
too - our women soon branched out to become active in other areas by serving
on many other local organizations. Our major focus was in two areas (1) To be
supportive to each other and (2) To make a positive difference in our
community.
Our major fund raiser is making homemade cherry pies with proceeds donated to
local agencies voted on by the
Membership.
Today, our club is eighteen years old - we have continued to retain our focus
of lending support to each other and to the community - over the years we
have watched many of our families move to other areas but we are very proud
that 22 of the charter members continue to be active in our club.
What is AMBUCS?
AMBUCS, the National Association of American Business Clubs, is an
organization of concerned, caring men and women dedicated to developing
America's therapists, to aiding the physically challenged, to innovative
community service, and to providing opportunities for building relationships
and friendships.
